SKID SPEAK:
Skids are not the same as pallets, however their function is nearly identical.:Skids aren’t just products, they’re a culture.
What makes a Skid different from a pallet?
Pallets are the often-neglected pillars of the industrial complex. Farmed from lumber mills that are tearing away at forests around the world, pallets have one purpose in their short lives: a flat transport structure that supports goods. At the end of the day, pallets end up on the back of a truck – and ultimately, at the landfill.
Skids, on the other hand, are those pallets that the community is able to rescue. Before they end up on the back of the truck for their ill-fated last ride, they end up in the hands of the creative forces of good: the creators, the inventors, and the artists. From there, skids are renewed by stripping them of their chemical treatments, and restored to their original glory. Where they go from there is entirely up to you. Skids are the raw material of your imagination.

SKID CULTURE
REUSE A SKID AND CREATE SOMETHING
Every skid gets sent away at some time. We give them a second lease on life.
200 MILLION +
That’s the number of Skids that are discarded by industry every year. By recycling skids, we’re not only rescuing totally usable lumber, but we’re reducing the burden felt in America’s landfills – one 4’ by 4’ plot at a time.
NATIVE WOOD
Mass quantities of wood are needed to produce skids every year – which used to mean wasted lumber. Instead of destroying forests for a short-term solution, we’re rescuing that wood and reusing it.
TREAD LIGHTLY
Skids are flammable. The chemicals they’re treated with make them even more dangerous. This contributes to fire damage in the industrial and commercial complex.
